Boy you all have the disease baddddddd. I have maybe two buckets of lures, and now I build a few. Maybe a few hundred in lures and more in rods and reels. Might have to go count it all tomorrow. I may be in for a shock.

After one year roughly $1000 in lures and another $2000 in rods, reels, leader material, release tools, etc,.

I love my new toys!

I've been divorced for about 7 years. The court accepted her value estimate of my tackle at that time. I did not contest her figures. Since I don't know anything about statute of limitations regarding such as above......

3 big Muskie Boxes of baits(sleeves laid down- baits just packed inside), 2 full size dressers of baits and about 40-3700 boxes packed with bass baits(30-50 each) and maybe 5 boot boxes packed with bass baits. I just stopped buying any great deal of bass/Muskie baits from 1980-2000(pre china).I was spending $200/month for last 3 years on Internet swap sites.

I think most fishermen have memorized every lure in their tackle box. I would suggest that you make a list, look up the prices on Rollie & Helens, and derive a precise number. Rollie & Helens (web site or catalog) is a good source because they have a wide selection and "typical" prices.

For most dedicated musky hunters, I think the amount would be in the thousands of dollars.

I think we can be overwellmed with our purchases. Might be a better IDEA to invest in private security at the launch and at our cabins............LOJACK everything!!!!
What is our world coming to?
Think twice about personal purchases from unknown individuals for sure.

I figure $300. I'm not big lure buyer, just use what works and I'm not a guy who changes baits every 10 min.

$3500-$4000 in rods, reels, tackle. I usually add about $300 a year in tackle to fill in colors and new lures. Don't really need to, but in Canada if you need a lure, they pretty much don't have what you want, so I carry my own store with me. I sure don't carry all the boxes in my boat, but if I need something I've got it in the cabin.

...Now I have separate rider for my fishing gear thats good for $15,000 about $12,000 of that is all Muskie gear thats been collected over 20yrs+.

Good thinking Tim. I did the insurance rider thing a bunch of years ago to cover accumulated fly fishing gear. It was just 5K but I always felt good about it. I upped it to $10K when we switched carriers.

My wife is completely in the dark about what stuff costs, but she's not stupid either. In the event of my untimely death (seriously) my wife KNOWS not to just firesale the stuff on the front lawn or anything.

Mmmm. . . Why did this have to come up again. Brings a tear to my eye when I think about it, but as i continue to think about my equipment my frown turns upside-down. Closing on a new home tomorrow and I can't wait to put up the new "wallpaper". . . A wall of colors, a wall of lures.

with all the money most of you guys have invested in lures. my question would be of all of your lures how many do you still use? do you go through hundreds of lures over the course of the season or do you have your favorite few that get fished most of the time.

Over the course of an average season, fishing maybe 35 days?

I probably use two dozen different lures. I might use 4 or 5 during a week up on Eagle, and yet I bring half of my lures up there with me. Why IS that...
