I want to have satellite radio installed in my boat.
I am a little gun-shy having 5" holes drilled into the interior of a fiberglass boat.
I've read posts here whereby guys complained that those speakers installed in the back of the boat made listening up front a little tough with blasting the volume.
Is anyone familiar with a self-contained speaker that can simply be mounted ... yet does not require large holes to be drilled?
They usually run some pretty nice sales right after Christmas, though I am not at all sure how to play this one.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Location: Kodiak, AK | I'm sure there's some bracket-mounted speakers out there somewhere, where you only have to drill three or four holes for the bracket or something.
I say bite the bullet and drill the holes for the flush mounted speakers. You can also drill and then Dremel out the hold if need be as well. It's your boat, but I think the clean flush-mount would look better and clutter the boat much less than speakers mounted on a bracket or otherwise not flush mounted. Don't fear the drill!! I used to cringe too when drilling into my boat, but it done right, it's not a big deal at all. JMO |

Location: N.FIB | maybe you could have a small little box with a speaker in it mounted to the floor of your boat up front.I would talk to a marina about what to do,but first I would talk with someone who installs stereos for a living.Someone who does it for a living and has alot of experience has seen alot more than any marina, they know their stuff. |
