I've been stationed in AK and WA the last ten years, and needless to say, there's no muskie shows out there! Now stationed in MI, I'm right in the middle of them. I'll be deployed (taking my helo to the back of a CG cutter) this year during the Chicago show, so that leaves Milwaukee and Ohio. I'm on LSC north of Detroit and I'd like to hit a show, but not knowing what to expect.....what can I expect? I don't want to drive out of state and take a weekend only to find that one show or the other is better or worse, not worth it, totally worth it, etc....

How does the Chicago show compare with the Milwaukee show? I've been to Milwaukee a few times as day trips, but have been thinking about making it to Chicago one of these years. Bait swap sounds like fun.

The Chicago Show is at Harper College in Palatine. Depending on when you go, it can be REALLY crowded. Amazing that an area with so few opportunities for muskie fishing would have so many muskie anglers.

Chicago is obviously the the momma of musky shows, but there are plenty of advantages of going to the other shows. Milwaukee is a great show for sure, lots of vendors and lots lots of people, Ohio on the other hand is more of a smaller show where you can talk to people for a while, ask as many questions as you want, etc....Chicago is just like Chicago traffic....tons of people, tons of traffic, amazing show, but Ohio offers the anglers a smaller atmosphere with a smaller crowd where I actually get the chance to sit down and talk to people one on one, not just rush them through like at other shows. It's a double edge sword and I enjoy both, but Ohio gives you a chance to actually sit down with people and "talk" to them.

If I were you...I would go to Chicago, Milwaukee, Ohio, etc....you can never have to many musky shows!!!

Milwaukee for me. Chicago OR Milwaukee, whichever is closer.

Is there any kind of organized swap in Milwaukee?

chicago show is way too crowded at times but I still find myself going every year, milwaukee can get busy also but would choose milwaukee over chicago if I had to pick one.The one show I really like is the madison fishing show, not just muskie stuff there but it has tons of boats to look at,don`t buy a boat until you go to that show if your in the market.I try to make the madison show every year and at least one of the big muskie shows.

Chicago is a blast,,,it has the biggest attendence and being the first it has the most BUZZ surounding it

Minnesota muskie expo has the most booths/vendors and boats.lots to see

Milw is fun too but I rank it third you have to pay to park and they need a different building its just one step above a horse barn.

all have swap meets on sat night.

Since Chicago is out for you, I'd definitely choose Milwaukee over the Ohio Show.
