Is this a capped model? I think it was the precursor to the Mag, but there was another boat called a Stinger ( I think...) a few years earlier that was not capped and has a built in tank, etc, and was on the Esox LTD frame.

The Esox Mag hull is rated 60 tiller, 135 console. The Esox is 50 tiller, 90 console.

it is capped and 80 inches wide. has console and rear deck. powered by 75 hp merc 2 stroke. is this underpowered for two anglers on waters up to 1000 acres?

Nope, will run great. It's the boat that led to the Esox Magnum.
