Location: Des Moines IA | My brother in law got his first this weekend, a shorty foresure, but fun none the less. It was hooked pretty bad, and had to cut 2 hooks, and do a little surgery, but it swam off fine, hopefully to get a lot bigger!!! Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | DH Buc & I chased the mighty muskie all Saturday and Sunday morning. Darrel has increased three chest sizes from all his rowing (his choise) the entire time! I casted the entire time. My Drop Belly Gliders got a workout. We had four nice follows (2 well over 40") with one hooked in the roof of its mouth for 0.476 seconds at 10' out from the boat. The others did everything but make contact. Only one left the bait to intimidate the suckers but never hit them either!? The "muskie candy" suckers enjoyed their leisurely tours of the lake! All we boated was a nice northern......moon rise, sun set, sun rise, moon set, major feeding periods, minor feeding periods, wind shifts, cloudy, sunny, fall feeding frenzy all added together equals "O-Fer"........I suck......... Posts: 667 Location: Roscoe IL | Went Sunday with the whole family, spent 4 hours on the water before the wind kicked up & they wanted off the boat. Lost 2 & got a 37. The boy's named the Quick strike rig a 1/2 Nelson since you only put the hooks on the left side of the Sucker & BNelson makes them. First one on that rig for us. Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Fished friday and saturday up in LOL's. Suckers only, I didn't even cast. One 36" on friday, a 36" and a 42" saturday and lost one more mid-upper 30's boatside. I too witnessed alot of trolling up there. Sad when people don't want to play by the regs.

Posts: 103 | My friend and I fished a river system on Saturday. We fished for ten hours and raised two fish the whole time. We did catch a couple nice pike, one of which hit in the figure 8, so that was cool.

Posts: 409 Location: Almond, WI | I was in Oneida County for the weekend. Fished a cisco lake Saturday from noon till dark, nothing. Marked a lot of bait from 35-60 FOW. Talked to some walleye fisherman at the dock leaving and no action for them either. Fished a clear, weedy lake Sunday morning. My cousin lost a little one, maybe 30" and had a follow on the next cast, about the same size. On a brown Eddie bait. Weeds were still nice and green for the most part on both lakes.

Posts: 880 Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | I'm really not sure how it happens but from a Friday at work where my fishing buddies are calling to say that the lake is hot and produced a 49"r off the pier, a 47'r in the 1st 5 minutes of fishing and then a 44'r, 42"r followed by a 37'r. An 24 hours later not seeing a fish, do I sound like I'm complaining....carp what's up with that???? Congrats to Dan Peckels for bagging a fat 49"r from the pier on the 3rd cast with a new bait, then a 47, 44, 42. This is why they give you personal time at work, I should of been there yesterday. Posts: 1308 Location: WI | I trolled ofr 5 hours friday without a strike. Hardly saw baitfish anywhere which I thought was kind of odd. Saturday we hit it casting and dragging suckers for about 8 hours. In the first hour we lost one low 40's on a sucker while netting it. A while later I got a 27" on a mag heli dawg, then we lost another one twitching a 10" jake. I lost one after that on the heli dawg when I spaced out and didn't set the hook.

Posts: 1061 Location: Medford, WI | Hey guys, just thought I'd write up a quick fishing report from this past weekend. I hope you're all able to get out on the water or in the woods to enjoy the fall before it's gone...not much of a fall this year so far though. We were up in Oneida and Vilas this past weekend for a little over 2 days of fishing with mixed results. We fished three different lakes - 2 of them produced, while one didn't. Fish definitely seemed to be in a chasing mood as we probably had 12-15 different fish chasing suckers around throughout the weekend, but not willing to eat them. We did have 3 fish grab suckers and hooked up with one of them. We let our good friend, who became a father recently, take it as he hasn't been out this year, and I was glad we did so. After a great hookset and a tough fight, we netted a 47" fatty - his first for the year and a personal best...congrats Seth! Fish were found in several places, but the 15' break is where we had most of our action on one lake and deep weed edges (16-20ft) on the other lake. We also got 2 mid-30" fish on Shack Attack Curly Sues and had several more follows on the Sues and Suzy Suckers. Fish didn't really seem to be chasing crankbaits that much, with only one hit on a 10" Jake ripped hard that got off boatside and no other follows. As the water warmed up a bit over the weekend, mixed with the wind, we found fish to be a bit shallower just inside the deeper weed edges on Sunday. I'll be back up there this weekend with my brother, fishing Saturday with Gary Myshak (Gare's Guide Service) as I won a free day from him a while back. I should be able to get a report up after this weekend as well. Good luck to everyone hitting the woods/water this weekend. Be safe and have fun...won't be much longer and lakes will be starting to freeze over...and then it's major editing time! (I'll get pics of this past weekend's fish on here after classes today) -Jake Bucki (Congrats to everyone above with their fish! There's some nice ones starting to be caught and they should only get bigger.)

Posts: 686 Location: Tomahawk, Wisconsin | It has been a great week of fishing to say the least!! This past weekend we managed to put 6 fish in the boat mostly on meat!! A 46, 44, 43, 42, 35, and one 37 ate a rubber dubber. My brother Steve has had some sucker rigs put together and we have yet to miss a fish on em, 9 for 9 is a WHOLE lot better than percentages of the past years, simple rig yet truly effective with one small single hook thru the snout and one treble placed back, the rig is adjustable to fit, makes a difference if you ask me. Finally able to get some pics up, the first is a 48 that Steve caught last week and Troy caught this 46 last weekend, now to learn the fine art of making the fish pics look absurd...........................
