I use them alot, and they work great. Hard to tell what the issue is from your post. The Rumbler is a great lure, just gotta give it a second after it hits the water before beginning the retrieve.

I have neer heard anything about the bldes being out of tune. The blades are very thick, mine gives a beautiful plop. Like Steve said, give them a second before retrieving, alot of topwaters arfe like that anyway. I did see one that would not spin well but it had a burr and was fixed. It seems the more you throw it and get it worked in, the better it works. Mine is all beat up and missing the eyes, fish seem to like it. It is also a great bait for kids to cast, it will go a mile.

Try giving it a little jerk before you start your retrieve to get the blade spinning and it should come in fine.

Sorry Guys! I should have given more details! It seems to turn very slow with a much quieter plop-plop than a Topraider! Is this usually how they run?

The blade will not spin as fast because it is a heavier thicker blade. As far as the plop however it is a hard deep plop even on a slow retrieve, or at least should be.

Back out the front hook hanger screw and remove off the steel/lead washers if yours runs quiet. Mine did and after I lightened it up it runs loud. Easy to put it all back together again if this doesn't work, but it did for mine.

I've had alot of trouble with mine over the past two seasons, and after no response to inquiries I fixed it myself. My tail sometimes would not spin, no matter how long I waited to reel in. The problem was that the tolerances were too tight and the tail and body and were gatting 'jammed' depending on how it landed. A few of my friends had the same issue and we filed the body or tail so there was better clearance, which fixed the issue of the tail not rotating at all. Still have to wait for the tail to 'drop in' on occasion as alluded to above, but at least the manufacturing flaw has been remedied on ours and the rumbler is happily rumbling along now. It didn't happen to me this year, but last year I watched, on a number of occasions, the rumbler produce right alongside other topwaters being ignored.

The best thing to do with a Rumbler is take it to a swap meet. I'm not product bashing just stating my personal opinion. There are a lot better top water baits on the market that cost the same or less then the Rumbler.

I am not real crazy for these baits as they haven't worked well out of the box for me. However I did make a quick mod that fixed the issue. There is a small bead behind the tail - take a pliers and squeeze it until it breaks. This creates a gap between the body and the tail and allows the tail to turn freely. Reef Hawg is correct - the tail and body are too close together based on the design and the tail hangs up on the body. Once you get them to work correctly I like 'em.

i've had good luck w/ the one i have, haven't thrown it a ton but it does sit lower and make a noticeably different sound than the rest..which on occasion is all the fish needs to hit it...

They are good baits, but if you even get a small chunk of weeds on it they stop working unlike some topwaters.

The Rumbler works better for me with weeds hooked up than any other tail rotating lure I own, but I DO need a Night Walker.

You can take and back out the tail by twisting the back eye of the lure a few turns. This will give you a little more clearance. That's what I've heard NV suggest for this issue.

Thats interesting, mine starts to roll when it gets even alittle weeds on it.
