Location: Iowa City, Iowa | Please provide comments on the Lund 1625 XL tiller boat with a 50 hp Merc 4 stroke. I am considering downsizing to this boat/motor combination. Rod boxes limited to 7 ft is an inconvenience, but not a deal-breaker. The 84" width is a plus. What strength/power 12v bow trolling motor have you found to be adequate? Thank you for your assistance. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | don't go less than 55 lb tm. my dad has the classic 1625 (like the rebel 1625 not xl but with a rear deck) the tm moves the boat well, but he uses a lot of juice in the wind. he has a pd55. if you are going to stay 12v get a 31 group battery. you will need the extra amp hours. his only has a 25 suzi on it, and it goes 25 mph. i would try to get a 60 on that boat as it is what I want. i'm not familiar with merc's lineup, but i know evinrude makes a 60 hp. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Lund packages with Mercury, so your best deal will be with a Merc 60 HP 4 stroke. |

Location: Iowa City, Iowa | Thanks for the two responses I received; great help. I am thinking 12v trolling motor, since the boat comes equipped that way. Now I must decide whether to use the footpedal or the electronic steering.
Thanks again for the help. |
