Location: McGuire AFB, NJ | I love mine. Its really light and solid. Its pricey but I traded in one that broke. So when I tried to get an older one fixed the asked the question "sir would you like to upgrade?" bad words for me to hear haha. If your gunna be sligging lures all day it makes life much easier! |

Location: Kodiak, AK | I've got the Blade and the Dawg, both with split grips. I originally ordered my Blade with the straight grip, but it came with the split grips, and I initially was ticked, but I tried it anyway, and really like it. Then when I got my Dawg, I intentionally got the split grips.
Some guys don't like them up against their ribs, and you can feel that, but it's not a big deal to me. I love the LT rods, and am a fan of the split grips. |

Location: Medford, WI | I had a similar situation as Chris...had a broken Avid rod, they didn't make that style rod in the Avid series anymore so they asked if I "would be willing" to pay $50 (which I had to anyways as I was the 2nd owner) for a Legent Tournament rod 6" longer. I was more than willing! Wasn't sure about the split-grip at first, but as soon as I started using it, I really like it a lot. Very, very light rod (weight-wise). I should also mention that the model I got is the top'n'tail-8ft. With a lifetime warranty, you can not go wrong with St. Croix's Legend Tournament Series. Thumbs up to the split-grip and to St. Croix's customer service!

Location: Smith Creek | Not a big deal with the dawgs as they don't have a lot of resistance when ripping them. Its ripping the jakes and depth raiders that can get uncomfortable. I don't much care for full cork anymore. |

Location: Smith Creek | I think we can all agree casting is the most difficult part of using pounders. I think the split grip is going to make that part of the ordeal less strenuous for you. |

I was reluctant at first but I'm very happy to have chosen a split grip Sling Blade. I'll be going with a split grip from this point forward... |
