Well I'm Back form my Weeklong trip to Whitefish Bay. The Muskie fishing was very slow to say the least. I tried a variety of methods including speed trolling reefs and breaks, casting shallow and deep weeds, topwater, bucktails and cranks. The only fish I had on was from speed trolling. The fish took two big jumps and managed to shake the hook[:(] . The walley fishing was amazing, bass was okay and caught some 33" pike. Muskies were slow. I talked to one guy in Nester falls who was a guide for 22 years and he told me the only time to be on whitefish is in the fall. Saskabong is better because of the darker water. I was also told the only way you can really catch any nice fish on Whitefish in the summer was to downrigg for them or to deep jig for them. The problem with that though is that you end up killing the fish so thats no good. One guy caught one while downrigging for lake trout at 75 feet and the fish was bleeding at the surface with a belly all ballooned out.[:blackeye:] Not my idea of Muskie fishing.

Well good luck to everyone and see you next time on Saskabong Bay!

Regards
Cory Toker
