Random quote: A couple of young fellers were fishing at their special pond off the beaten track when out of the bushes jumped the Game Warden. Immediately, one of the boys threw his rod down and started running through the woods like a bat out of hell, and hot on his heels came the Game Warden.

It looks like a Hybrid Muskie!
I'll try to get the pics correct.
Look at the wood with your eyes
Follow the grain and find your suprise!
I sat there looking at the grain and letting a pencil follow in the grooves and all of a sudden, up jumped the outline of some lures.
Just think, I am going to destroy this piece of wood that came from a giant CA Redwood just so we can catch fish with the pieces.
The board is a little over 2" wide but has a couple of knots, but I should be able to get 12 - 1" thick gliders out of it.
I don't think that I'll get them done for this season, I just got done weighting the lures from the last piece, but that one wasn't nearly as highly figured.
God is a better artist than anyone.
This is one of his best gifts yet.

Better reserve one. These will be on the costly side, because if you knew what I paid for that piece of wood, you wood crap!
It's worth it, because not only is this wood beautiful, it has great life in the water.

"Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover"
The purdy wood turned out to be a bust
When I went about cutting it down to usable size, I found out that the figuring went away, and the wood was wetter than a beaver after a swim. Quite a let down. After I dry it out, it will get painted just like any other piece of wood. In fact, after I cut around some knots, that board might just turn out to be Perkettes.
