| Message Subject: Metro Lakes | |||

| I'm a new musky fisherman who lives in Rochester, MN. For my "local" fishing I'm pretty much restricted to French Lake in Faribault, MN and the Metro Lakes. I would like to concentrate on French along with 1 or 2 metro lakes. Those of you who fish the metro lakes, which of the metro lakes should I concentrate on. I've fished Tonka once and raised 1. I haven't fished any of the others. I was going to hit Inde, at the end of this month, but am going to opt for the Tonka MF outing. Can't wait. If a lake has camping or is close to camping it would be a plus. Thanks for the insight. Andrew | |||

| Andrew; Taking rt. 5 west from 494 go thru eden prarie and chanhassen.Go all the way through the town of Victoria . At the Dairy Queen on that end of town take a right and go into Carver Park Reserve.There is a small campground there.You will be 15 minutes south of Minnetonka and 10 minutes east of Lake Waconia.Go to Mases Marine in town of Waconia or use public ramp at NE corner of lake( rt 30 and 155 )From campground go north to rt 7,make right and there should be signs for launches and small park for minnetonka. have a good trip | |||

| Happy, Can you email me the Saturday schedule? I might be able to get out early on the weekends to fish. Steve, I heard from a guy this morning that Tonka is now a no wake zone. Is this true? Lance [email protected] | |||

| Lance, It is not true totally. NO WAKE WITHIN 600 FT OF SHORE!!!!!!!!!! This is great!! I can fish and not have a boat screaming by me!! Ummm what I meant is yes it's true don't go out it takes to long to get to a spot. By the way I'm out of town but the Sherrif's office # is 952-471-8528 for updates. S- | |||

| Great, NO MORE JET SKI'S screaming by in the shallows. Also no more sunday drivers going around the lake, and through our drifts. They have to stay out in the middle to keep moving quickly. Lance | |||

| I would reccommend fishing Tonka, Minnetonka, or one of the big bays of Minnetonka. The size of the lake can be intimidating at first but if you stick with it and fish a few new spots each time you hit the water it will soon become your favorite metro lake. Brian | |||

| Lance, As soon as I get the time to type it up I will! Starts next Sat during the MuskieFIRST outing. | |||
