Location: On Lake St Clair Michigan | The shaft is not locking in the down position. When I turn it on med or higher it will unlock and the motor will pull itself up and to the surface. What do I need to replace?
Thanks
Rich

| Hiya,
What I am guessing has happened is the retainer clip on the spring mechanism broke off, and the spring came off the shaft. Take off the side plates....one of them will have the spring and retainer.
I'm betting you can do it pretty quickly, and with a quick run to the local hardware store, you'll be back up and running quickly.
I'm hoping my memory is right on that...had that happen to me one time as well.

| Had the same problem with mine. I ended up drilling a small hole on the shaft where the retainer pin goes on and the uesd a small cotter pin to hold it on. No problems since. |

| It was really easy and it ensures it will not come off the shaft. |
