| Do these units accept the same size SD cards as the LCX series? My partner just bought a boat with an HD5 on it and said the card slot seemed too small to fit his SD card. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | The HDS units accept the same cards the LCX units did. The HDS unit slots are at an angle so when you putting the chip/sd card in, make sure your putting it in correctly. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Great unit btw. I have had a hds5 with lake insight for about a month now. great unit IMO and I am very glad I went with lowrance over the bird after being in a friend's boat with the two side by side. |

| Thanks. I now have another question. We went to save waypoints onto the SD card and cannot find menu option to do so. The menu options are not the same as on the LCX units. TJ, can you help? |

| Hit pages
press left until you see "waypoints, routes, trails"
go down to files--- hit enter
highlight memory card-hit enter
highlight the file that drops down from memory card- hit enter
If you do not have the new software update that lets you use Navionics, then you might have to hit right or hit menu on the highlighed file, then highlight "import" then hit enter.
hit "yes" you do want to import that file.
wait for it to download, go to "chart" screen waypoints should be there
Also icons do transfer over as waypoints.
