$50 plus shipping. Good resolution, color, and infrared after dark. I have a B&W on the way, too, those are really cheap.
A harness that allows direct to edit capture to my Dell Mini 9 via USB 2.
A 12 volt adapter for the mini 9 and the camera.
4 gig SD card for the Mini 9 records 4 hours of direct to edit video.
Hydrophone hooked up to the microphone port or adapted to the audio in on the direct to edit harness.
We'll build a hard case for the computer, camera and battery in a hard plastic Pelican Case type box. I'm going to use a small deep cycle, not a camera battery, so I can record for about 100 hours straight on a single charge.
Battery will be about $45. Camera $50. Harness about $50. You can get a Mini 9 or Acer mini for about $190 to $230. I already had one so I'm not counting that in the total, just going to use it for this purpose as well as others I bought it to accomplish. Any laptop with USB 2 will work, but the little guys are easy to keep safe and dry and the Mini 9 uses a solid state hard drive so it's pretty tough. You also can use any camcorder with video/audio in and any 12 volt TV or DVD player with Video/Audio in.
Full color hi resolution video with great audio that will drop right into Final Cut. Sweet.
