Was wondering if anybody fishes at night on river systems and if it worth the effort to try after dark. Looking for some pointers on what you use if anybody does good after dark on rivers. Like if I should use topwaters , DCG , crankbaits , ect. Catch lots of fish during day so figure I'd like to try it at night and see if cant get some more of those big girls to eat.

Yes it works. mike Cookas love fishing the rivers at night. Using slow topwaters like hawg wobblers, creepers, and jitterbugs. Well worth your time.

I remember once Mike was fighting a good muskie and he wanted to step out of the boat to fight it like he often does, and didn't realize that he was in a deeper stretch of the river and went in over his head. Make sure you know where you are at when you do this.

i have had really good luck dragging shad style swimbaits like the 9" storm ones. I prefer another brand but something that is snag resistant since you are stalking after dark.

I spend alot of time on my local river after dark especially in the fall. Shad migrate into the river from the lake and the Muskie follow behind. Mag Bulldawgs are my favorite as its deeper water we fish but DCG's and 10" Jakes also fish well after dark.
