Location: Verona, WI | Anyone know what clear coat is used on Tuff Shads? I am looking for a clear coat that would go on hard but thin like that.

Location: Oregon | It is probably an epoxy...........he might be using just one coat of etex or flex coat.

Location: Verona, WI | Thanks Fred. The only marine epoxy I have ever seen is white. It cures very hard but so fast it was almost unusable. |

Location: Ontario | It's pretty tough to beat EnviroTex. It gives you plenty of time to work with and the finish is bullet proof, a good looking finish for sure. |

Location: Ohio | Envirotex is good but it at times is too hard and if it hits hard objects right it will shatter like glass. The stuff that Chris used on the original Tuff Shads was the clear that is used for the fiberglass cloth it is clear and sets in around 5 mins so mix small amounts and work fast. Another good choice is Flex Coat like what rod makers use on the wraps it is tuff but has some flex to it. |
