| Any one been up to LOTW yet this year? Are the weeds up yet? The lakes around Wisconsin appear to be a little behind this year.
Any suggestions for areas to start in? |

| Make a post to Greg Morse. He just got back from LOTW. He may have some advice or help. |

| The water is at a 50 year high. The logs seemed to be bad some days and totally gone the next. I took out one prop. Another person in camp took out a prop, and one guy took out a lower unit. The prop shop up there is running low on props.
The cabbage is just starting to stick out of the water.
The fishing was good early in the week and declined for most as the week progressed. We had the opposite luck. We tried to fish locations with weed/rock combinations. All the really big fish came off of rock points early in the week though.
All I can say is take plenty of black and silver bucktails. All the fish we got came on black and silver bucktails, the bigger fish grabbed a black and silver bucktail with a silver willow leaf trailer. Most people we talked to had at least one black and silver bucktail going at any one time.
We saw a 47" caught on a surface bait. Our last night up there, we had several fish chasing a black hawg wobbler, but no takers.
Walleyes are everywhere on jigs and night crawlers. |

| We returned 2 weeks ago. Wind and weeds where the ticket for us. We caught 5 total, all small with the largest 31". Saw a couple subs tho. We did manage 2 36" pike and limits of walleye each day. As far as baits go, black and silver mepps and rad dogs moved fish for us.
Have a great time and take a moment one evening to just sit and take her in.
I miss that island point already...

| Got back from the Angle on Saturday and had a good trip. We fished primary bucktails, jerks, cranks, spinnerbaits, and topwater. Although the two biggest fish came on topwater, the topwater action was odd. Seems like the fish wanted to play with the baits rather than hit them. They seemed to blow up on baits and not ever touch them, as if to say get out of here.
The water was very high and dropped six inches during the week. The algae was starting but if one played the wind could find clean water. |
