| You'd think they would have set it up for a 90 since they are more popular. How many boat motor companies actually make an 80 ? I seen Yamaha does but anybody else? My buddy has a 70 on his 617 tiller and it does about 32 mph. Not very fast in my book. A 90 would be perfect on it. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | In order to hit a US Coast Guard rating of 90, the 617 would have to be much larger. I don't know the formula but it's set by the USCG and I don't know of a 17' class rig that makes 90HP tiller. |

| Just doesnt make sense. The boat can handle a 150 with a console but cant handle a 90 with all the steering "assists" that are out there? I think they underate the tiller boats bigtime! Thanks for the info as well. |
