| Hey all,
I am looking into getting the 7' 6" St Croix Legend Tournament "The Jerk" rod. I was talking o a local muskie fisherman who owns the old Avid series musky rod, and he was telling me that he doesn't like the hrome guides on the legend tournament musky rods. Have you guys ever scared a fish with these chrome guides while figure 8'ing? It seems like a bad idea...
Thanks,

Location: Smith Creek | I've caught three on the eight with mine this year. I used Avids before and don't notice any difference in the fish's behaviour. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I think there's a lot that a musky would notice before chrome guides in a figure 8. There's the boat, YOU moving around above the fish, leader components, the rod in front of them visually, as well as making noise while getting pulled around in the water. I think chrome guides are about the last thing a musky is going to notice. I wouldn't let it worry you.

| When i first went from avids to legends i was concerned about this but after a bunch of fish on the eight i dont think it really makes any difference at all.I have had fish spook away for one reason or another but i dont think it was from the guides.I had fish react the same way when i fished avids as well.
