| When you guy's service you reels, Do you Greese, or oil the (anti- reverse) bearings???
Or or you supposed to keep that bearing clean and dry of any lubrication

| Ok, its on a TE and after i added oil to the bearing now it slips like crazy! Thats why im wondering if i should not have done this. Thanks Pikemaster |

| I think the old calcuttas used a little bit of teflon grease to prevent the AR bearings from rusting... thats it. The new TE has stainless steel AR bearings so I would think you do not need to oil it. |

Location: central illinois | i have 3 cte-401 i put oil on the anti-rev bearing one drop let it soak in and then wipe off excess oil before re-installing no problems yet |

Location: Huber Heights, Ohio | Any where you have metal to metal contact should have some type of lube. The lube would depend on what type (Grease or Oil) the manufacture recommends. I also use Quantum Hot Sauce oil and grease and have never had a problem. Look at the following from Shimano's web site. I was unable to post the pages as they exceeded 200kb limit MF has.

| Thanks everybody, and David_4, I did see this info on their site before but they did not go into detail about this particular bearing. I'm guess now that the timing of the bearing going bad might be coincidental to the timing of my service. Just my luck.
