I caught my first muskie on the Livid Fish last night a nice 41 just curious if anyone else has done anything with this bait? I more or less used it as a pull bait. I like the way it looks in the water. Hopefully many more to come.

Congrats Guest... I'm so glad to hear from people who are using the lure. If you don't mind sharing some details, I'd love to hear the story. Head to www.nazebaits.com for email and business phone. The other half of the Naze Baits operation also landed a forty plus this week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dtDh6zwWMw&feature=channel_page It's only a matter of time before this lure really starts catching on. People are really going to like it for the fall--its big, lumbering and you really can fish it fast or slow. Hope to hear from you!

Posts: 131 | The Livid Fish has been catching Muskies and I suspect we will be hearing about a lot more fish being caught on them this fall when more people start using this lure. Using it as a pull bait or jerk bait is a great way to go to trigger strikes. Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Nice fish and bait! I have always wondered why there was never any musky sized Ike style baits. Looks like you guys really made a good bait. Does it run like a bass sized Lazy Ike? Looks like a very versatile bait. Troll, cast, jerk, etc. Good job!!! Killer colors! http://www.nazebaits.com/Naze_Baits/Products.html FYI shoot me an email if you want me to show you how to make some PayPal Add to Cart buttons. Real easy for your website. James

Thanks James, A great deal of people compare the Livid Fish to other lazy ike-style lures. It's a fair comparison. The Livid Fish has a great deal more belly roll...it's in constant motion--even on the pause--it's not just a tail whip lure. For those that want to see the sub-surface video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxLZ1Q4qdpM&feature=channel_page Thanks again...I appreciate the positive remarks.

Early August, http://www.bigwoodmuskylures.com/ will have them in stock and ready to rock!! Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | OK-that video even sold me a little more. Very nice unique action for a bait that size!! Think you may have something with this one and I don't say that a lot. Edited by Tackle Industries 7/21/2009 11:56 AM

Posts: 158 | Nazercl - I fish a lake close to home that gets hammered quite often and the fish are no stranger to the typical baits according to a buddy that lives on the lake, his suggestion just 2 days ago to me was to find something the fish haven't seen.....perfect timing on this post! I'd like to pick up a couple of these just for something new to throw at them and see if I can up my odds. If I guy picked out two to start out with, what would your two favorite colors be? I realize it may very from lake to lake, but on average, what colors have you seen get more reaction? Thx!

1. Without a doubt, we've had the most success on "Chartreuse w/Dots". Clear or stained water...it has been the go-to color. BUT...that being said, it also spends the most time in the water when we are fishing. 2. The color that has been the hot seller has been the "Black & Orange". I had a gentleman from Northern Minnesota call the other day to tell me he raised six fish on that pattern. 3. Watch our website in the next month, we will be coming out with a new color called "Sunburst". Blaze orange, yellow, orange, red and brown. I have a couple painted up in my own box that I started using this season. A couple of weeks ago I raised 7 fish on it. Check the color patterns out on: http://www.bigwoodmuskylures.com/lures.php?cat=crankbaits&make=Naze... Kyle has a great site that you can easily see 9 of our 12 colors. Otherwise check out our site, but we're not set up for Credit Card orders....yet...soon hopefully!! Go to the contact us page and check out what stores we're in...maybe close to your hometown?? At any rate...I really appreciate the interest in the lure and would love to hear what colors you decide on. More importantly, I would LOVE to hear (email or phone) if you put one in the boat. Please let me know on both accounts!! Good hunting!

Posts: 158 | nazercl - 7/21/2009 4:36 PM Hey...great! Nice Salmon pics! What are those reds hitting on? They hit on a variety of weird flys...most commonly caught on a Russian River fly. Good times up there. I coudn't watch the videos today at work, but just did here at home...holy smokes....ordering them tomorrow! Yikes they look deadly. Can't wait to get them in the water.

Posts: 1058 Location: Medford, WI | Corey, great to see the success stories starting up on here. Like I told you, as soon as people start to use these, they'll be catching fish and hopefully sharing stories with you and other fishermen. We started rowtrolling now and I'll be going out tomorow sometime by myself to give the Livid Fish her maiden voyage trolling. I'm expecting big things and will let you know how it goes. I think you should only make that "Sunburst" pattern available to a few people...that baby will be hot!!! -Jake

Hey Jake....I read your fishing report...sounds like you guys are doing okay up there. We'll be up for the first week of August camping. Good luck with the row-trolling. I really hope you guys nab one on the Livid Fish. I had a couple guys at the Milwaukee show buy them specifically for row-trolling and I'd love to tell them that you had success. Nonetheless, we are getting some positive feedback and it feels great! Josh and I really want to produce the "Sunburst" color seeing as though we've seen so many fish on it this season. It'll be ready with the first batch of "Tin Heads" that hits the market August 11th. A few guys have been asking about them too....so the wheels are starting to turn. Just so everyone knows, the Tin Heads will ONLY be available on two sites...no stores...YET... http://www.nazebaits.com AND http://www.bigwoodmuskylures.com/lures.php?cat=crankbaits&make=Naze... Anyway, good luck Jake, and I've got a Sunburst Livid Fish with your name on it ready for the fall!!

Posts: 158 | I was pounding the water with my orange/black Livid Fish the other day - dang that bait is $$. Just got done doing with a long retrieve, did my 8 with it, pulled it up to cast again and happened to look down and there was a green submarine that appeared out of nowhere about a foot below the surface right where I stopped the 8....as fast as I could get "fish" out of my mouth for fellow Muskies 1st member Polarkraft1996 to see it was gone. Not 2 minutes later it appeared again about 5 feet from the boat and slowly disappeared. About 20 minutes later on the same break I was cranking the Livid Fish and could see from about 10 feet out there was a green giant following it with it's nose bascially touching the bait! Followed it right to the boat and as soon as I start a wide 8 it goes under the bow of the boat and was gone. We raised 5 fish that day in 3 hours, the 2 biggest on the Livid Fish. No fished hooked yet on it, but it's only a matter of time with the way that thing works in the water! You guys got that new color out yet?! Bout time I order up another one. Naze Bait - what is your experience with the presentation of the bait while cranking? Both these fish came in on a slow crank. I fished it faster and jerked it on and off that day, but both of these showed up with it being a slow presentation. Of course I second guess myself and wonder if they'd have hit it had it been moving faster, but maybe they wouldn't have even shown up it it was moving faster...you know...shoulda coulda woulda. You guys have any thoughts on the fish you've seen/caught in relation to your presentation?

I don't know who's more excited---me hearing that story or you seeing those fish. Sorry I didn't reply right away--camping and fishing for the last week. Wow...what a story. I'm really pumped that you're seeing fish on the lure. Any guesses on the dimensions of the fish (x2) you raised. As far as retrieve, I've been using it as a jerk bait more and more...I've been seeing and catching more fish as well. With that being said, the biggest fish I've caught on the Livid Fish came on a straight retrieve. The only thing I could possibly suggest that SEEMS to make the muskies stick around by the boat longer is some significant variation in the "up and down" of the lure while figure eighting. I wouldn't be shy when burying that pole in the water...but you might be doing that already. Otherwise there's no real secret when using the lure, you're doing everything I'd do! As far as the Sunburst Livid Fish, they are painted and I just need to throw some hooks on them and they'll be set. August 11th you can order from me or Kyle at Big Wood Musky Lures. Good luck and I'm hoping I don't sound like a broken record, but that story has got me excited that people are seeing big fish on out lures. Thanks so much Ryan.

Posts: 158 | Thanks for the response. I'll have to work on shoving the rod in farther on the 8 and going more up and down on it...that makes sense. Both fish were well into the upper 40s range, the first was an absolute hog and could have very easily been 50. Can't wait to get back on the water and give it another go!
