Thought I’d share a log entry I made of my 2nd and 3rd musky ever, the 3rd being my first legal. The dates are 6/10/1997 - 6/13/1997 – I was 14 years old, writing in a log book grandpa got me for Christmas. I just found the log book last night and man did it bring back the memories. Today I’m planning on adding some recent dates to it. #*^@ near brought a tear to my eye!

6/10/1997 – Big St. Germain (Day 1)

Today, my uncle Al and I took a trip up to Big St. Germain area to my grandparents resort they stay at. After we arrived, my uncle and I decided to get some fishing in although it was dark. We went 200 yards out and casted big lures for at least an 1 and a half hours. No fish were caught.

6/11/1997 – Big St. Germain (Day 2)
Woke up at 5:00 am and went out with Uncle Allen and Grandpa. We started at the yellow dock. It was dead calm. I never saw so many trophy musky in all my life! Allen caught a limit of 3 walleye right off the bat with slip bobber and leech. Grandpa and I remained skunked until the “birdhouse” where all of us caught some undersized fish. We saw baby duck get eaten by musky next to little pier!

Al and I did some night fishing and caught 4 keepers. I caught my second musky ever, a 31” tiger musky on a black bucktail dad gave me. It was really cool looking.

6/12/2009 – Big St. Germain (Day 3)

Got up at same time today and headed out. I like the way the gas smelled from the motor, don’t know why. Not many fish were caught. It was too windy. Day sucked.

6/13/1997 Big St. Germain (Day 4 – Last Day)

Last day in resort on Big St.Germain. Only highlights of day was the musky I caught on a crappie jig and twister tail on 6 lb. test Berkley Trilene line. It was a 40 incher. I netted it myself while Al took pictures - we were surprise I landed it!

Nice Sam. I can't remember the date but I remember hooking my first muskie. My dad and I were fishing the Chip. Fished all afternoon and then at the last spot at dark I hooked a fat 30" on a bucktail. I still have the bucktail can't throw it cause I don't want to lose it!
