Posts: 156 | Well after 3 guided muskie trips and trying on my own I finally hooked one. Thanks to guide Brian Long for guiding me to my first. Brian also showed me how to work a Suick, and all three of these fish were caught on Suicks. The first fish was caught with Brian on a small lake near Clam Lake, WI - the northern and my second 'ski were caught out of my buddy's boat in the Gile Flowage. After trying to learn this sport for about a year and spending a lot of hours on the water with no luck I feel a little confident. Hopefully it will not be another year before I catch my 3rd! Congrats on your first few fish! The question has to be asked, "did you catch the musky or did the musky catch you?" Just a word to the wise, ask one of your more experienced musky friends for advice on holding the fish. The first two poses are good, but the way you are holding the fish in the third pic can be very dangerous. Congrats again!

I was trying to avoid the fish pushing my hand into 3 sharp trebbles on that Suick which was tangled in the net. Grabbed her kinda akward cause I wanted my hand and the fish away from the lure and it shows in the pic. Ha, ha, yeah - I think that muskie caught me!

Pretty fish, nice pike too - as far as your 3rd pic, you're not a real musky man until you have some scars on your fingers anyway so you're almost there
