I thought I would ask on here to see if anybody knows what’s going on with my 135 Optimax. The alarm went off the other day and after checking the computer log it showed no water pressure and thus is shut down to safe mode. This has happened twice now. I know I have good water pressure as the water pump is new and there is a strong steam of water out the pee hole and the temperature is correct and stable.
My dealer thought it might be the water pressure sensor and when we looked we saw that the water pressure sensor is plugged into the wiring loom, but not the grey water pipe. There is another sensor that is connected to the grey water pipe and not the wiring loom. I called Mercury and they don’t know what the deal is, they told me it could be something to do with the Smart Craft reads digital and not analog and that’s why this has been done.
Can anybody shed any light on this as its confusing the hell out of me and my dealer. I am the second owner of this, so I am not sure what has been done before I got it. I have put 20 hours on the motor without any issues until this alarm went off.

I recommend taking it to an authorized Mercury service center.

Andy,
Here is the best advice I will ever give you: bring the boat to Ken's Power and Sail in Palatine (between the now defunct Dancer's and Ozzie's Water Park). Ken is an authorized Mercury service guy, is fair on price, and has always done a great job on my Mercs. Contact number: 847/991-2440.
