Does anyone know how to re-install the aluminum cap from an older (1987) Tuffy? I hav replaced most of the wood and carpet and am ready to complete this project. The cap was originally installed with some type of aluminum rivet.

Thanks, Mike Blaise.

Use a strip of plastic sheeting about 3" wide placing over the top of the boat evenly, that will keep the gunnel from peeling back your carpet when you pop it back on. Use a rubber mallet, and begin at the bow, tapping the gunnel into place. When you have it snug, pop rivet it on through the existing holes. Carefully razor knife off the excess plastic, replace the corner caps, and you are done.
