Posts: 21 Location: Erie, PA | I just got back from our annual fishing trip to lake athabasca in northern Saskatchewan. My buddies & I have been chasing after a 30lb pike for 15 years. My dream finally materalized. She weighed 32lbs & measured 49" long by 21.75" girth. She hit a lucky craft pointer 100 series bass plug. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. I feel very lucky. Guide Ian Besse is in the picture on the left & cradled her. Attachments ---------------- Lakers 2009 004 (3).jpg (165KB - 127 downloads)

Posts: 1769 Location: Algonquin, ILL | I think that most folks who do look down at Pike is because they usually get the 18-34 inch class fish, I got my PB last year a nice 43 incher and I can tell you that once Pike reach this size and beyond they are totally different animals so don't knock big pike until you get one. GREAT FISH Who's doing your Replica ? Edited by JohnMD 6/23/2009 1:22 PM

Posts: 380 Location: Michigan | Now that is a trophy... I have taken many a trips to the north on the same quest, and have yet to hit 30 lbs... 25 a couple times, but not 30... I would take that over a 40lb muskie...

Posts: 21 Location: Erie, PA | Thanks for all the congrats. Big pike really are special as are big muskies. I have a 50" ski from St Clair which went 33lbs but the pike is more special to me.
