i have got an older minn kota, about 7 years, with a transducer mounted on it. had some trouble on the water yesterday with the power seeming to fade out but then coming back. the screen at first was almost flashing at the same rate that the sonar would be. today at home checked batteries and everything fine with them. the sonar pings would start and then become irregular till the unit would shut off. moved the unit to the console with transducer on the transom and no troubles. i am thinking just a new transducer on troll motor. any other suggestions greatly appreciated. todd

Sounds more like a power issue. Did you try your console unit up front?
