Location: Ontario | I grabbed a few multi-lure lots off the web. In a couple lots, there are the baits I like and maybe one or two that I'd change if I could. The problem with Spike It and some of the other dyes I've looked up are the colour choices. I can't get blacks, browns, gold etc. BPS sells Spike It near me but they have no selection in colours. One of the best parts about hanging out on this site is that so many of the guys who make the baits also share info, schematics, demos etc etc.
Has anyone tried water-based paints thru an air brush on rubber? Or maybe acryllic latex? I have some awesome colours for the air brush (thanks Beaver). Are there alternatives to the dip dyes? I heard Kopke say that he tried spray bombing one once and the bait never dried. Without giving away any of your trade secrets, can any of the plastic makers talk a little about how rubber can be painted to fish with? There are at least 2 Dawgs I want to change the colour on completely. Thanks a lot guys. Our season opens this Friday at midnite and I'm climbing the friggin walls here!

| I've used a black permanent marker on a dawg and it worked ok. Only pike ever hit it, but I'm sure I'll get one on it eventually. Thorne Bros. has a video on this topic somewhere on their site.
