I used aluminum plate to cover holes such as this. Use stainless screws to secure instead of steel or brass so they don't rust or break down to galvanic reaction.

Get a 1/4" sheet of black Lexan. You could also get a sheet of thick gauge Polypropylene (I've only worked with up to 55ga., but I think it comes in 130(ish)gauge. There is a company called Western Plastics (I think in Addison, IL) You can google them. Once you get your layout set up try contacting a smaller local silk screen shop and see if you can get them to print whatever info you need on it (Bilge, nav. lights, etc.....or personalize it w/ custom art/ logo). You could probably sweet talk them into a sample run price for something like this. Better yet find one who likes to fish.

....or how about diamond plate. That could look friggin sweet.

Try the guys who "pimp my ride". Or at least your local automotive audio shop for your custom job. They have a variety of blank stock mterial they can work with. I'm headed to sound advantage in Chicago this week for a custom face plate to go with a new stereo in my boat. I'd like to see what else gets posted.
