I got a triton dual pro charger on my boat just to charge my trolling motor batteries. Its for charging the 2, 12volt batteries. The question i got is when i plug it in i get 3 red lights indicating the batteries are low. 3 hours later or less the lights are green. Ill unplug the charger, wait about 3 min then plug it back in and it looks like the batteries are low again. Anyone know what this might mean? The batteries are less than a year old.

After you charge your batteries, how does your trolling motor perform?

My friends boat did kind of the same on a triple charger but it was only one of the batteries that would do what you described and it ended being the battery was bad.

Another thing to check is the water level in the battery if it is not a gel type.

I would bet it's something to do your with your batteries before your on-board charger.
