OK, getting ready to mount the antenna module for my gps on my boat. I have a walkthrough windshield and I know it says to mount the module by and unobstructed view. If I mount in under my windshield and only glass is above the module, will it interfere with the signal? Hope someone understands, it's kind of hard to explain. Any other tips for GPS is appreciated.

The module really should be mounted in a clear area, away from widshield frames, and other objects. Mine loads OK behind a plexi windshield, but it is a hand held.

Phil I mounted my module just in front of the drivers side windshield on my 620 and there is no problems at all. The responce time is very quick and only time I loose signal is when I run under a bridge or use my spotlight on a low accesory battery. The marine radio antena is located on the other side same position. I have had no problems with either one. This spot works because they are out of the way and in a spot where they can't be abused. Jason took pictures of my rig Saterday and they might show the positions that I chose, I think the pics are under a on the water reconition post or something like that. Mike

Steve and Mike,
Thanks for the tips. I will definately mount it where you have it Mike. Only question left now, it when you mounted it up there, when you drilled the hole how did you cover that hole you had to make for the wire on the module? Or what is the best way to cover that hole you have to make for the connector so you don't take in any water through it?

Thanks again and Mike it is nice having somone else with a 620 that seems to have the same stuff...lol

Phil:

Make sure you prep your glass before you drill it. You may want to apply some tape to the are and begin with a very small bit working your way to a larger bit to avoid big chips in your glass.

Phil both wires run through the fiberglass, there is a seal on the products your installing. The marine radio antena cable runs into the pasenger consol and then under the rod locker then into the drivers console, the speaker wire for the am/fm cd radio runs with it. There is ports you can unscrew to get into areas you need to(rod locker). E-mail me at [email protected] if you have any problems I will be glad to help you. Mike
