Has anyone tried both the wooden and plastic versions of the 8" Slammer Crankbait/Twichbait? I was looking at a plastic one but wanted to know how it stacked up to a wooden one. Comments about action would be most appreciated, but wear would be an area I'd be interested in hearing about also, Thanks.

they run straighter out of the box. they will also last for ever since they are plastic. very well made baits and really nice paint and clear coats.

I guess you should contact slammer bait co. and get the info directly from the makers mouth.
IMO the plastic is a definite improvement. No expanding or contracting of the wood where the clear coat would chip and crack. I guess he was trying to accomplish a little bit more hang time, so bait does not rise as Quickly.

Great twitch baits- have better action than Cranes imo- my biggest fish came on an 8 inch Slammer trolled in October. I have the wooden lures and they will lose some of their their clearcoat between the sun and the water. I've found the best prices at Sportsman's Warehouse.
