I would like to put smartcraft monitoring system on my boat. I have an 03 mercury optimax 200. I was just wondering if anybody has any experience with installing smartcraft system. I have found ebay has some good deals on components for the smartcraft system. Is it as easy and running the harness and installing the monitoring gauge and you're done.

Any info would be appreciated.

I was going through the exact same thing not to long ago, problem is there are a TON of pieces and parts on ebay. What I decided to do was to call Merc direct get technical support and explain to them what you are trying to do. The lady I worked with was great, told her my boat was a full windshield and 17.5 ft and that i wanted to hookup the SC1000 System Monitor (square face digital read out - no analog tach) she punched everything in to a computer and told me the exact part numbers I would need. next I went out to ebay and various sites found the best price and now I'm waiting for the parts to arrive.

BTW when you call make #*^@ sure you have your serial number for the Motor.
