Was in a mall here in Indiana with my wife and walked past a store and something caught my eye. The store was using gold and crystal flash tinsel for decoration. The same stuff I paid $4.oo for at gander mountain was packed in a good size container for $3.oo and I got twenty times the amount. The only bad thing is its not uniform, its just kinda packed in. Still, looks the exact same. Why do they screw us so bad? I'll bet the same companies that make flashabou make christmas tinsel and just charge a ton more because we don't throw it out at the end of the season.

Christmas tinsel and flashabou are not even close to the same thing. That tinsel will not hold up very well at all.

and Larry Dahlberg invented Flashabou so you have to buy it from him LOL!! And Al Gore invented the internet.... do yourself a favor and find some alternatives, things sold in fishing packages aren't manufactured solely for fishing 100% of the time. You can find some of the stuff elsewhere for cheaper. The company that makes Flashabou is called Hedron, google them.

I found some gold "Angel hair metallic shred" at my local Dollar Tree. This stuff is as tough as flashabou and makes great lures for only $1.00 a bag. They also have a childern's toy hair extension wig-type thing made out of a very tough nylon strand that I am going to try.

I'm guilty of tearing apart the feather dusters to get ostrich feathers. Wish I could find that cheap dollar stuff in black.

Flasabou was many years ago as it was used in smaller skirts for salmon and trout. I can remember seeing probably 20 years ago in rienkes bros in milwaukee. If your wife does crafts her magizenes will have some stuf in them that I've used allread. Holly hobby also.
