Subject: Another rod handle question

Does a person have to spend alot of money to get a good rod with a long handle? I would like at least 16" from reel seat without voiding a warranty by extending one on my own. I've found some good rods for 100-120 bucks but 15" is the longest i've found.
Thanks,

The 8'6" Okuma EVX telescopics have a 16 inch rear grip. The 3 new telescopics up to 9'3" also have a 16 inch rear grip.

Edit... The new telescopic testing is almost complete. I will announce shortly when they should be available in the U.S.

I have to admit, I was skeptical of the okuma rods at first, however I really like the EVX I bought. matched it up with a calcutta and casted all day without a single complaint !

How much do the new okuma's collapse to? Do they collapse to 7'6", 8', etc? Dad's boat has a 7' rod locker and he likes how much my long rods make throwing baits. Thanks ahead of time!

The 9'3" versions will collapse down to about 7'8" or so. I had to move the stripper guide back down a tad bit so that is about the lowest that we can get them.

Stripper guide????? I'll be needing one of those cause I don't see well. Its got to be better than a guide dog.
