| Was looking at my area forecast (Eau Claire, WI) and I see that this weekend's highs are supposed to top out mid to upper 70's.
Now, given that it's been so unbelievably hot up here for a while now, will a downshift in temperature help the fishing or is it the typical "cold fronts suck" business as usual?
My guess is that perhaps the first day might not be so good because of the drastic swing but if it stays down for a couple of days then fishing will get better due to cooling water surface temps. Perhaps really good since feeding may be at a minimum during hot water temps?
What do you guys think?

| Going from sweating your giblets off in the blazing heat, to cooler temps in the 70's is the same thing we had 2 week ends ago and my brother and I had some pretty good fishing then. I personally think it helped the fishing to improve. I'm looking forward to the temp change this w/e. Hopefully my brother and I will have a repeat of the last trip. [;)] [:bigsmile:] |

| Two weeks ago we hit over 100 on Sunday and Monday and woke up on Wednesday with low 40s temps and max at low 70s. Well we got a 37,44 and a 50 on Wednesday a 45.5 on Thursday and a 37/39 45 day on Friday. This is one of those rare times when a coldfront will actually make the fishing better.
We hit 100 today and they are calling for same tomorrow and lower temps for the weekend so I will see if it will be that good again. [:sun:] |

| Forget that there is a cold front, and from an attitude standpoint approach the weekend as if this is right before a front. The best time to go is when you can! |

| I Don't know about the fish but I sure will be a lot more comfortable trying to catch em, resulting in better concentration which means more fish |

| A cold front will definitely improve my fishing, because I will not fish in 97 degrees unless I am in Canada, or in a tournament. The last two days on the Goon, Jason and I had to pour water over our entire body every few minutes to stay cool during the mid-day heat...Phew! |

| What I have found is the first day after a cold front can be good for fish you have located before. I got a decent one on Eagle Lake a couple of weeks ago the day after it got cold. But after that first day my experience has shown me that it is BUNK. Only success has come from open water bozo's after that.. |
