Location: North Canton, Ohio 44720 | I have read before about windex being used as a thinner. I always wondered if the blue color of the stuff changes the paint color. Guess I will just have to try it.
I just recently tried this method with createx paints and it worked really well. Put your paint in a dixie cup and add drops of Isopropyl Alcohol and some kind of paint retarder(I used Createx brand) to the consistancy of milk. I used mostly alcohol to get it to the desired consistency then I added 4-5 drops of the retarder. I only mixed up enough paint to fill the airbrush cup up half way. The alcohol will cause the paint to dry faster, which I like using createx paint, and the retarder helps lubricate the needle so the paint won't stick on it so much.
