Impossible to predict river flows, but the usgs site has tools to help get you on track, based on historical values. Here's a link a to a flooding probability chart for the guage on the WI river near Merril. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ahps2/weekly.php?wfo=grb&gage=rotw3&view=1,...

Also, a link to a neat function of the site allowing you to click on the stream guage of your choice for more detailed info: http://water.usgs.gov/waterwatch/?m=real&r=wi&w=map

The usgs site is very helpful to me in both job and recreation. I love the real time data feature, which allows one to check stream levels and/or flows from anywhere. It has saved me alot of driving a number of times, especially in the spring of the year.
