Looking for input on this blank. thinking of building it out to 8'6" or 9. When built out to 9 is it to limber for an all around rod(top water, standard spinners and tails, cranks)? What are you guys using it for?? Thanks

32,
The 8' Mega Swimbait in the Bass Series is a phenomenal rod for many different applications. I've used customs from Thornes as well as Frank's Custom Rods and they rock! I used it for topwater, cranks, bucktails and rubber. I liked it for 'finesse' fishing a dawg through the cabbage. The rod butt diameter is smaller and it will take a 17 or 18 reel seat. I really like the Fuji 'non-slip'(can't remember the actual name) as I palm the reel. I did throw 10's with it, but it wouldn't be my first choice due to a little "load" when going mach 10 in the 8. Great fish fighting rod with lots of power. This is the rod Jody Dahms was using when he landed the 54X30 a couple years ago on a double 10. I also love this rod for cranks and spinnerbaits as the slightly softer tip casts them well, but is also a little forgiving.I casted the Slammer 10" Deep Minnow(on the big side) easily and could feel every rock. This was straight cranking and not ripping the bait. Almost a finesse technique used on the rocks. As long as you're not looking to throw all the big stuff, this rod would handle multiple duties and would be an asset to any anglers arsenal. Hope this helps. Steve
