Subject: Operation Muskie needs help from the "Basement"!

hello all you "basement builders"!

please check out this thread about Operation Muskie:
http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=47...
this effort sends 20 wartime veterans on a guided muskie fishing trip to Lake of the Woods...free of charge.

as a result of the economy, it's been difficult to secure large corporate donations to fund it this year, so as part of a committment to giving back to the community, i'm organizing an auction and MuskieFirst is providing the space to help support this effort. the auction will take place in late February or early March.

MuskieFirst provides this "basement builders" forum to help lure-makers develop their talents, benefit from each others' advice, and appreciate the art that many of you are producing.

*** i'm asking each of you who benefits from using this space, and benefits from the freedoms our veterans provide for us, to consider giving back by donating lures to the auction. all proceeds will go directly to Vonnie Johnson, Operation Muskie's treasurer. ***

feel free to contact me with any questions or comments about his opportunity by private message, email, or phone:

Micheal I am in for sure!

Enough can't be said for the verterans. I often ask myself if I would have had the courage to do what they have done. I am forever grateful!

A special thanks from the Snow family!

Musky first I appreciate having this great forum. Many many thanks.

I have two lures at the moment to donate. Here is the first:

It is a copper sided sinking glider / jerkbait. It is 10" long.
As it sinks it glides forward.
It drops at about a 2 seconds per foot.
You can work the water column nicely.
It has hand painted glass eyes.
Wolverine 3x split rings
Mustad premium 5/0 hooks
5 coats of epoxy.
Weight 7.25 OZ
It is labeled #2 09 John Snow

You can count me in for a few of my gliders. Just let me know where to send them and by when. How about dropping them off at The Milwaukee Show? I'll be there Friday when it first opens.
I think that I have some Mega-Turds hiding in the basement too.

i will not be able to be at the swap...it being Valentine's Day and all.

however, you could leave them with John Bette / Stealth Tackle as i'll be picking some stuff up from him and i think you know him, right?

or send them to me at the address listed above.
much appreciated!

Michael,
Is this something that you will be doing again in the future? I am very interested in sending in some baits, but I don't have any completed yet that I can send. It will be the middle of March before I have a chance to get some completed. If you're doing this again next year, I'll set some aside.

Best wishes on the auction,
jeremy
