I was doing some research on keel guards and they say that you shouldnt use them on lunds??? Also, you shouldnt put one on if you have a roller trailer. Well, i have both a lund and roller trailer. I have to beach my boat at one lake i fish at, is there any product out there that i can use to save my keel???

Thanks, Rob

OMG!!!!!!!! I had a lund angler, w/ the middle roller trailer......worst thing ever. for one it was so difficult to get that boat on the trailer striaght and on the middle roller, the keel or middle kept falling of that middle roller. I was told by many boat places, that w/ that middle roller, when your trailering your boat it puts too much stress on and actually causes damage to the hull......the damage on mine was it caused it to leak terribly on the keel, repair would be about $2k.....not cool, i learned my lesson

On most aluminum hulls, you would be very hard pressed to wear through the keel. That thing is at least 1/4" thick, and if you are beaching it on sand, it would outlast you before it would wear through the keel.

My boat gets plenty of banging and scraping on rocks in Canada, and I have yet to have any keel wear through. that is a thick chunk of metal...

I wouldn't worry about it....

If I am not mistaken, the lunds double-up the keel in the front as well...so you have even more durability there...
