Location: Birch Run | Just looking through the new bass pro saltwater catalog and was looking at the Tekota, similar in size to the newer garcia 7000's but lighter in weight. Any input on this reel? And the Torium looks to be very similar to the Saltist, any input on this reel? Both of these reels are very similar in price compared to the others I mentioned. I don't want to jump in and buy reels and not be happy. I am looking to have one set up to burn double 10's and one two burn them. Thanks for any suggestions on these reels. |

| I have owned both and like them.
The Tekota is a great reel if you are looking for something with a low gear ratio for slow rolling blades, etc. Very durable. I've got an extra one in basically new condition that I could part with it you are interested.
The Torium has the same gearing as a Trinidad with a significantly lower price. Makes burning blades a breeze. I used one last season and loved it. That said, I am upgrading to the Trinidad this year |
