I was wondering , besides conditions and water color, what influnces you to pick the color that you do?? Like if you were in a place that all things were right to throw a jerkbait, is past success what tells you to throw this color jerkbait or gut feeling??
Just wondering

water color used to be my judge. I always stuck to the old stand by muskie colors but find myself sticking with natural lifelike colors for all conditons now.

I throw whatever color I am "feeling good about" that particular day and keep trying till something gets a response...

I think one thing guys won't mention is confidence. Sure, you throw bright colors in stained water and whites and blues in cisco lakes, but when the fishing is tough we go to what colors have gotten us fish before even if it is different water. Maybe I am speaking for myself, but you get in a groove on the colors that have produced and don't try something different. This year I am throwing pink. New to me. I think those fish get conditioned to seeing 100 cisco colored bulldawgs a day.
