Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | I have had friends fish it...Classic NW Ontario trout water, big fish but also fairly difficult to fish at times due to the water clarity.
I know of a few camps, there are either boat in or fly in only...I'm pretty sure the lakes fish the same as they are both the same type of water... |

Location: N.FIB | I`ve fished upper manitou from 01-03 and stayed at green island lodge wich is a flyin. The fishing was good for pike and bass but not so much for muskie, but that was when we didn`t know so much about muskie fishing,I would like to go back soon and really see how good this lake is since I`ve been muskie fishing for awhile now and know way more than I did then.I did see some fish and caught a little one,but wasn`t throwing big lures back then, the lodge is ok,there is a few things that I don`t like about it though. One is no trolling motors on the boats,(if you don`t get a guide it`s a pain to run the motor and fish at the same time)2 is the beds were kind of small(single beds I think). But the food was good, got treated good, when with a guide the shore lunch was awsome being crystal clear water in most of the lake, and the muskies aren`t boat shy.I would go back but probably not this year, but ya never know. Also it is very peaceful and was odd to see another boat on the lake, that was awsome, would be a great family fishing trip if you could afford it. |

| Hey Slugo,
From what I have seen in the past 8 years on the lake, esox lake which is the first lake on the Manitou chain seems to fish the best for muskies. Structure for days and lots of good fish. The system starts with esox lake, then lower manitou stretch, then lower manitou lake, then upper manitou lake. Muskie brian was right, much of the lake fishes the same, but with the big water you do alot of running from spot to spot, on esox you can put your trolling motor down and fish spots for hours going from spot to spot just with the electric motor - lots of spots and they are pretty close together.
If you have any question about the lake email me at [email protected]
