Thanks to my friend Steve Van Lieshout, I have a print to auction by Kloetzke called 'Something Old, Something New'. It is a beautiful print of a Loon and her Chick.

I also have a Swim Whizz, a Bumblebee Invader, a Slammer Topwater, a Slippery Sam, and a Perch color Viper.

Here is how this one is going to work. I figure we have over $300 (Thanks for putting the proper value on the print, Steve!!) worth here. Bidding will start at $65. If the winning bid is over $175, I will ship the lures in a custom Lakewood Muskie Box, and throw in a MuskieFIRST hat and T shirt.

Thank you for the excellent bid, ghoti!! Do I hear anyone at $225??? Look at the picture, the prize package is worth LOTS more than that.[:0] [::)] [8)]

Rob:
Good effort, my friend. Take heart, there will be more comparable packages, just no print next time.[]

Steve,

I can't tell from the picture, what size/model of lakewood box is it.

Thanks,

Steve

BTTT, by the way Steve, when does this auction end? I have a tourney this weekend and depending on the outcome I may want to place a bid.

The box is a custom made to fit the 1990 Esox Deep V and will hold about 40 baits distributed well, more if you wish. The auction will end Monday night at 10 PM, June 10.[]

LETS GO!!!

ghoti TAKES the Box, and the baits, plus a MuskieFIRST T SHirt and hat!! Please send the check to:

Ashton Fund
3790 Foster Lane
Rhinelander, WI 54501

Thank you, you will be very happy with this package!!

Ashton is actually walking alittle at under 9 months. MAN are his parents 'in for it'!! He can't articulate at all and is too young to listen to anyone much, so he will simply tear around and ignore direction---at least for awhile!

Maybe we should send them a Frabill Big Kahuna Net to catch him as he sails by once in awhile!!

The latest Surgical Team/Doctor visit went fairly well. The uppper is not as stable as they would like to see at this point, but he is doing well with the last surgery, and is getting a few teeth in, too. All in all, MuskieFIRST's adopted little muskie angler is holding his own. He still needs special feeding equipment, and is severly allergic to many fabrics, so 100% cotton is the only thing he can wear. Thanks to one of the most caring MuskieFIRST members I have met, Ashton has a handmade quilt specially made for his allergy; he loves it.

Steve and Musky Goddess,
How about some updated pics as to his progress? That would be cool to see, plus Mom and Grandma again!![]

Thanks Steve for another well-run Auction. I appreciate all you have done and all the angler's who continually contribute for the benefit of my grandson. You are a very special group and words can never quite express what I feel in my heart for all that everyone has done for Ashton!!

An added update to Steve's blurb on Ashton's progress. Yes he has gotten teeth, in spite of his premaxilla (front upper jaw) being seperate from the side portions of his upper jaw, he got his front two teeth and they are in perfect position. He has three teeth in his lower jaw and we're still waiting for the fourth to come in. He started speech therapy already, the "Birth to Three Program" comes into my daughter's house twice a week and is working on teaching him sounds. They call it learning through play. He can vocalize some, we call him our "Little Shrieker," as most sounds he makes are just that, shrieks! He healed better than the doctor's had expected, has minimal scarring at this point, thanks to my daughter's continued efforts to help her son in any way possible. Everyday, she massages his upper lip to get the blood flow up and help the healing process continue. She uses sunscreen on him whenever he is in the sun, to reduce the possible redness that could occur in the scarring from sun exposure. And she continues to shower both him and his big sister with love, attention, and all the nurturing they could possibly need or want for. It takes a wonderful mother to give so selflessly in the face of such adversity. She makes this grandmother PROUD!!!

Ashton's next surgery in in October, after he turns one year old. They will build him a soft palate to make feeding him easier. Grandma stumbled on a way to feed him solids one afternoon while babysitting. The little guy loves yogurt, but hated baby food, too hard for him to get it down, had to be something with the texture of it. So I mixed babyfood with yogurt and low and behold he loves it. So passed this on to my daughter, and she keeps a continual supply of plain yogurt on hand, to mix with his peas, carrots, fruits, etc... He is growing like a weed and is such a happy "Little Shrieker" now.

His skin problems continue but we deal with that. I will keep you updated as he progresses on his journey through life. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all you've done and all you continue to do. You've made a difference in all our lives through your efforts to reach out and help my family. You are all Angels and each Muskie Fisherman deserves to get a fifty + incher for your help, you are truly deserving. Thank You All.

Sincerely,

Jody Holbrook

Steve, any chance of meeting you sometime this Friday? I will be up in your area chasing ski's and could give you the check and pick up the goods then. Save on postage for both of us.
