I have recently been given some handtied musky lures. They look like flies made from moose hair and deer hair. Because of the animal hair, these lures float all of the time.
Is there anyone in the musky world who has used these types of baits? Have you made any yourself? Can you remember way back when the oldtimers used to make these?

They are not perfect and the hooks are primitive. I plan to take photos of them and post them this week.

An oldtimer gave them to me with a handful of awesome musky stories from my area. They were tied in the 40's.

I've seen similar lures, yes. There used t be spoon hooks tied that way, but those would sink once you got them wet enough.
