I plan on upgrding to the 10HDS this year, I'm currently running a 38HD bow and console and will be adding a 10HDS to the console. The information I have on this setup is I will need a connection box for the three units(nema 2000 network). The 10-HDS would be configured as the master unit and the other to would get the High Def. feed from this unit. Existing sonar(2008 Ranger 619) remains the same and the embedded sonar in the 10HDS would be the default. Is all the above a correct evaluation of this upgrade.

You will not be able to get the High Definition from the HDS unit to your 38HD's. All units have to be the new HDS units in order to get the High Definition. All new HDS units will come with the red connectors for networking like they have been for the last year or so with other older Lowrance models, but you will not get the high definition on the older models. All other information will be received in the network, just not the high definition part.

Also, as for power for the new HDS unit, it will have a power node off the t-connector so when you network your 38HD's with the new HDS unit, you will have a power node off your connectors that you will run to your accessory switch. That node will be able to power all three units so you will not need the power cords for your 38HD units.

If I buy a single stand alone broad band sounder unit, not the HDS and get a straight 110HD unit for the console. All three will work off this , correct, or am I still missing soemthing.

No, you will need the Lowrance Broadband Sounder-1 and the Navico Expansion Port-1 in order to network all units so the Broadband Sounder can be seen on all three units.

I believe the 110HD has the ethernet connection but if it doesn't you will have to get a 112 or 113. In order for the units to be able to utilize the broadband sounder, you have to have the ethernet connection on the unit, which means the orange connection plug on the back.
