| Anyone have any suggestions for an all purpose 8' rod? I've got an 8' er for the big stuff, but I'm looking for something to maybe throw some regular sized stuff. Looking at the 8' Compre and the 8' Okuma 1-8 oz. lw. They are calling the Okuma a trolling rod. Anything I should know about it for casting? |

| you should the 8' Heavy St. Croix Premier. i have the 7' 6" version that i got last year and i kinda wish i had waited a year for this one to come out. but the rod is great. its rated for lures 2-6 oz. but ive thrown baits as small as Mepp's musky killers and baits as big as magnum bulldawgs with it. and its a St. Croix! |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have several Okuma Muskie sticks, and really like the telescoping models. Look into the 81/2' model in heavy action, great multi-use rod at $119.
I balanced mine with a Bass Pro rod balancer. Sweet stick...

From the reel seat to the end the cork part is 16 inches. |
