I cant speak for 2008 because we were rebuilding a house So ill just go with all time for us.
#1 Lokes cranks (7 inch)
#2 Talonz Little Claws
#3 Talonz Slashers
#4 SHumway Flashers ( double #8 blades)
#5 Nils Master Invincibles 10 inch models
#6 Tuff Shads
#7 Mordas Minnows
#8 Crane 205
#9 Cady Weagle
#10 Hoosier 9 inch Gliders

I went by the number of fish caught on each lure type. We used Lokes for many years before I built the Slashers. I have over 400 fish on Lokes but in just two years we have close to 200 on Slashers including our biggest fish a 52 incher from Lake St. Clair.

The best lure is what gets it done in the situation you are in. We do it all, cast ,troll, live bait. Every one of those 10 I mentioned are top of the line in my boat. I have almost zero plastic lures in my boat. I have owned them all and used them all. These are the most productive baits I have used in 12 years of Musky fishing.
There are several others that I give some serious credit to like Grandma lures 13 inch model. I have two muskies caught on them one over 30 pounds. I own four of them. They are the only plastic baits I own.

My own Rippin Shads in 4,5 and the new 7.5 inch models.

Hudson Hoginators ,very nice baits,

BK Chubbies , I am just starting to use these and have high hopes.

My own Dragon Claws and Deepthreats, Many others are doing real well with them. My Michigan fish are just getting big enough to use them myself.

Cow Girls, cant argue with the numbers but my elbow wont take the strain

DCG's, Jr. DCG, and double showgirls. The tails did awsome for us this year... 3 years ago I hated them and was a glidebait fanatic, this year and last I didn't use any gliders past June. Tails RULE!

I also did well on Hawg Wobblers early in the season, times were tough and those along with 8" T. Tubes help put some early fish in the boat... talk about a slow way to fish though!

our best were woodies on st clair. i have seen many personal best caugt on them. as for colors browns were the hotter color for 08. bucktails from mikeys tackle were also very good when fish were hi in july.. grubbing 9 inchers in august down deep produced some large girls.

Was able to spend time in the boat in a variety of areas this past summer. The best baits I saw were:

Bulldawgs, Mags and Pounders. Just wait 'til they start being used in tournaments, lookout!!!
Dunwright Reelfish. Great action, definitely have a place.
Cowgirls, they work in WI too!
Legend Perchbait, one of my favs for rowing, scored again this year.
Slammer 6" minnow baits, great when the fish are shallow and need a little more of a trigger. Great twitched.
Tanner Wildes' new spinnerbait looked awesome and caught some real nice fish this summer.

Also, the new Musky Innovations tube/reaper. We tested these this summer and did great on them. Worked great when nothing else did.

1/3 of the fish I caught this year were on Bulldawgs (55 fish). The next closest were double ten VooDooTails that accounted for 26 fish.

Kickin' Minnow, Perch. Just change out the rings and hooks....and don't expect it to last. But it catches fish.

Everything on double 10's
Catch one of the 10 I missed on the blasted Weagle and then the guy I was with throws it and hooks one on the first cast.
