JUST SEEN IT IN HUNTER MAG. LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING THAT I WOULD NEVER THROW PERSONALLY NOT REEL HIGH ON THE LOOKS OF IT IMO. I'M SURE THAT IT WILL SELL.

I like the look of those lures and I will probably be getting one or 2 at the show to try out next year.

I got my hands on a few of these this year and really liked them. Within the first hour of throwing them, I had action from 4 different fish, catching 1 of them.

They are definately a bait to get this show season. Their action is awesome!!!
You will also be able to see them used and working quite well on Musky Hunter TV this winter.

Of course YOU did! While all the well known guides have already caught fish on the new baits, us "nobodys" are just hearing about them!

I'm definately going to get some tho. Basically a tube with a reaper tail.... sure to catch some fish. Especially on the high pressured lakes.

"Basically a tube with a reaper tail"

Sounds like the Red October Twisted Tube... http://www.redoctoberbaits.com/index.php?productID=1

Whats the difference? One less tail?

A Reaper is not even close to a twister tail.

The bait has some nice finishes, a great weight, large profile and fast sink rate, should be a stellar throw back bait, deep weed edge bait and heavy current river bait. Will certainly throw them next year.

The large reaper tail help the bait float and hang, it also helps direct it on a crazy path when you jerk it, twitch it, or let it rest.
I also throw the Red October Twisted tubes, and they are totally different baits. The Jimmy has great hang time, and some pretty crazy erratic action. Two totally different baits for sure.

Anyone have a picture? I have heard they look like a Red October too but looks and action can be two very different things many times. Really depends what they did with the guts of the lure IMO and this will make it run differently. Heard some say the new Medusa swimbait is a Bulldawg copy too but that thing looks cool to me! I think with the extra tails it will have a little more action and that will also put some additional drag on the lure for more of a hop-n-drop jigging action. Have a few on order but will have to wait on the ice to melt to see how she works.

The Jimmy is definitely a bait to look for at the 2009 shows. With its unique action it can be used either as a tube with a jigging motion or more like a jerkbait with short twitches. Either way it will put big fish in your boat. I had the opportunity to fish with it quite a bit this summer and I am sure it’s going to be a great addition to the Musky Innovations line up. Also as Mike mentioned earlier you can see the Jimmy on either the Musky Hunter TV show or on Keys Outdoors this winter where in both cases it landed some nice fish.

i've fished some Red October tubes rigged "jerkbait" style with in-line weighting and a front hook eye instead of a jig-style hook eye out the top. it results in very erratic side-to-side action that you can really get to do some interesting things with.

Reelwise, we should have you covered on the orange tiger or at least something close. We have been playing around with so many colors I am not sure which ones actually made the cut. Either way I am sure there will be something in that ball park.

Esoxhunter, the weight of the lure is 6.5 oz dry. The price is not yet determined however it should fall somewhere between 15-18 dollars fully rig with harness and stinger. Also the plastic on the Jimmy is relatively hard (as far as soft plastics go) and should definitely hold up well, that is until it finds itself in between razor sharp teeth a few times.

Will I be able to through this lure with my St. Croix Legends "Lip Stick" or "Slingblade"? Both are only rated for lures up to 6 oz and it appears it is over that. Do the rod ratings even matter? Also, is it ok if i use either of these rods to throw the new medusa?

esoxhunter, you'll be plenty fine throwing this lure with a rod that is rated up to 6 oz. Right now, my biggest rod is a Shimano Compre 8' XH. Don't remember exactly what it's rated up to, but I don't even think it's 10oz. However, it throws a pounder out there great and I was even throwing a 2-pounder with it this fall (2-pounder was definitely a little too much for it, but the pounder works great).

Although your rod is not perfect for throwing the jimmy it will do it fine. I always like to have rods with as much backbone as possible in order to drive hooks home so I would probably beef it up a bit but that is kind of over kill. If you have a stronger rod I would try that but if you don’t and you’re not planning on buying one then I would not worry about it.
